This ambitious project presents the 전체 'Jajinhanip' suite, originally an instrumental adaptation of vocal accompaniment for *gagok* (Korean classical vocal music), performed exclusively as a 독주 on a single 대금. Showcasing Lee's profound 경험 and 음악적 depth, the 음반 is scheduled for release on May 27, 2026, through Riway Music & Media.

Encountering the 정수 of 정악 Through a 대금 독주: 'Jajinhanip'

대금 연주자 Lee Young-sup's sixth 음반, titled 'Lee Young-sup's Daegeum 정악 – Jajinhanip,' is set to be released on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, via Riway Music & Media. The 음반's most distinctive 특징 is its presentation of the 전곡 'Jajinhanip' suite, a 핵심 repertoire of 정악, performed entirely as a 대금 독주.

While 'Jajinhanip' originated as instrumental 반주 for *gagok* and is traditionally performed by an 합주 of various 관악기, this 음반 uniquely presents the 전곡 using only a single 대금. This artistic choice aims to fully express the 대금's distinctive subtle ornamentation (*sigimsae*) and profound 호흡 techniques, maximizing the 악기's unique 매력, which might be less prominent in an 합주 setting.

The Deep 음악적 세계 and 형식 of 'Jajinhanip'

'Jajinhanip' is structured as a suite comprising four 악장: Dugeo, Nong, Rak, and Pyeon. It is characterized by a unique melodic progression, beginning in *pyeongjo* 선법, transitioning through various 변화, and concluding in *gyemyeonjo* 선법. This gradual evolution of 선법 adds depth and richness to the music, offering listeners a diverse sonic 경험.

오늘날, 'Jajinhanip' is commonly performed by an 합주 of various 관악기, including the *hyangpiri* (a Korean oboe-like instrument), 대금, and *sogeum* (a small transverse flute). However, it also stands as an important repertoire for 독주 performances by 악기 like the piri or 대금, or duets such as the *danso* (a small notched flute) and *saenghwang* (a Korean mouth organ), allowing musicians to showcase their 개성 and 예술성. Within this broad spectrum of 'Jajinhanip' 해석, Lee Young-sup presents a novel 방식 through his 대금 독주 rendition.

Lee Young-sup's 음악적 여정 and Dedication to 미래 세대

Lee Young-sup dedicated his formative 기간 and much of his career to 전통음악, serving as a 단원 of both the 정악단 and 창작악단 at the 국립국악원.
