Scheduled to run from July 1 to 19 at Daehakro Dream Theater, the theatrical adaptation promises to vividly bring the original film's message to life on stage.

The film 'Audrey, So Beautiful,' which captivated audiences with its warm message of family love and memories, is being reborn as a stage play, set to run from July 1 to 19 at Daehakro Dream Theater. The play is based on the eponymous film, which premiered at the 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and earned significant acclaim for its portrayal of a mother diagnosed with Alzheimer's and her family's struggles.

The original film gained particular attention as the screen debut of actor Park Ji-hoon, delicately depicting the conflicts and pain within a family due to Alzheimer's, and their journey to overcome these challenges and restore love. The play is also expected to offer audiences a profound experience, truthfully unfolding the process by which a family, estranged and hurt after the mother's Alzheimer's diagnosis, rediscovers love and understanding on stage.

A Collaborative Vision: Original Director Joins Stage Production

To infuse the stage adaptation of 'Audrey, So Beautiful' with the deep emotional resonance of the original film, a special production team has been assembled. Lee Young-gook, the director of the original movie, is participating as co-director, collaborating with Lee Hyo-sook, an acclaimed director recognized for her work on numerous productions including the musical 'A Midsummer Night's Dream in Love' and the play 'My Mother.'

This collaboration aims to merge the strengths of both film and theater, delivering the warm sentiment of the original work alongside the unique vitality that only stage art can provide. Through the synergy of the co-directors, the production is expected to offer a fresh and moving experience to audiences by preserving the film's emotional impact while adding new charms unique to the stage.

Acclaimed Cast Drives Strong Ticket Sales

Broadcaster and actress Kim Kyeong-ran and actress Jeong Ae-yeon are cast as the mother, generating significant anticipation. Kim Kyeong-ran, a former KBS announcer, has recently earned praise for her stable expression and genuine emotional performances on stage. Jeong Ae-yeon has also consistently left a deep impression with her subtle character interpretations across various dramas, films, and plays. Both actresses are set to portray the mother character with distinct atmospheres and emotions, delivering a warm resonance to the audience.

Bridge J is producing the play, with AN Company managing the production, and Collective Mi:Nare handling planning, all contributing to the work's high quality.
