The Korea Easy Payment Promotion Agency (hereinafter "KEPA") announced on the 31st that it has appointed the five-member multinational AI girl group Sweetyz as Zero Pay ambassadors. This appointment was initiated to enhance the digital competitiveness of small business owners and inject vitality into local commercial districts through the fusion of advanced AI technology and K-pop. Sweetyz is also slated to actively participate in promoting Zero Pay-linked overseas payment services.

Meeting of AI Technology and K-Pop: Appointment of Zero Pay Ambassadors

The Korea Easy Payment Promotion Agency has appointed the five-member multinational AI girl group Sweetyz as Zero Pay ambassadors. This ambassador appointment aims to strengthen the digital competitiveness of small business owners and inject vitality into domestic local commercial districts through the combination of AI technology and K-pop.

Sweetyz is a five-member girl group meticulously selected through an AI system from among 99 trainees in the AI audition project ‘PRODUCE9’. The group consists of members of diverse nationalities, including Yena from Korea, Sophie who is Chinese-American, Aileen from Malaysia, and Riri and Yuzuki from Japan. They have released over 50 single albums, including ‘Liquid Dream’.

Sweetyz Initiates Diverse Zero Pay Promotional Activities

As the official face of Zero Pay, Sweetyz will participate in the creation of various content, including videos, music, and posters. In particular, jingles (CM songs) featuring the voices of Sweetyz members and payment guide videos will be distributed to Zero Pay merchants nationwide.

Through this, Zero Pay merchants are expected to gain new vitality, and the Zero Pay service is anticipated to become more approachable for consumers.

Expanding Overseas Payment Services Utilizing Global Fandom

Leveraging the characteristic of being a girl group with a global fandom, Sweetyz will actively promote Zero Pay-linked overseas payment services. Zero Pay is currently integrated with 67 payment apps across 20 countries worldwide.

Through this system, foreigners can conveniently pay at Zero Pay merchants using their home country’s payment apps without currency exchange. Sweetyz members plan to widely publicize the Zero Pay service to international fans through user guide videos that will be produced in various languages, including Chinese and Japanese.

Efforts for Both Small Business Owners and Foreign Tourists

Kwon Dae-soo, Director of the Korea Easy Payment Promotion Agency, stated, “The support for small business owners by the AI girl group Sweetyz, which combines advanced AI technology and the global Korean Wave, is expected to revitalize local commercial districts.”

He added, “Zero Pay, along with Sweetyz, will actively strive to create an environment where foreign tourists can conveniently make payments at small business stores.” KEPA expressed its commitment to contributing to the revitalization of the domestic economy through the synergy of AI and the Korean Wave.

This collaboration is expected to have a positive impact on Korea’s small business owners and local commercial districts through new AI-technology-based promotional methods. Furthermore, it is anticipated to contribute to the expansion of overseas payment services by leveraging global fandom.
