GS Shop Captivates Consumers with Frozen Fruits

GS Shop Expands Frozen Fruit Selection, Boosting Convenience and Value Amid High Prices

GS Shop announced that it is expanding its range of frozen fruit products, which offer enhanced storage convenience and cost-effectiveness amidst the current high-inflation environment. With the increasing burden of fresh fruit prices, consumer trends are showing a shift. Consequently, frozen fruits and processed fruit and vegetable products that can be stored for long periods and offer price competitiveness are gaining attention.

Changing Fruit Consumption Trends Amidst High Prices

Due to the recent ongoing high inflation, fruit consumption trends are shifting from a focus on freshness to convenience of storage and cost-effectiveness. While the demand for fruit intake for health management remains consistent, the high price burden of fresh fruit has impacted consumers. Interest in processed fruit and vegetable products, such as frozen fruits and squeezed juices, that can serve as alternatives is growing.

A key factor contributing to the increased demand for frozen fruits is their ease of long-term storage. Particularly with the rise of single-person and two-person households, there is a growing preference for frozen fruits, which can be stored for extended periods and consumed in small portions as needed, over fresh fruits that spoil quickly.

Strong Sales Performance of Frozen Fruits and Squeezed Juices

This shift in consumer trends is reflected in GS Shop’s actual sales performance. The frozen blueberries that GS Shop introduced through TV broadcasts last year recorded total orders of 400 million won in just two broadcasts, selling out completely. This achievement exceeded the initial target by 150%, clearly demonstrating the high consumer demand for frozen fruits.

Squeezed juices also showed rapid growth. From January to March this year, GS Shop’s cumulative orders for squeezed juices reached 2.5 billion won, which is approximately 45% of the previous year’s total squeezed juice orders of 5.6 billion won, achieved in just one quarter. The popularity of long-term storagable squeezed juices has become a factor driving the overall sales expansion of processed fruit and vegetable products.

New Launch of ‘Special U Frozen Blueberries’

In line with these market trends, GS Shop newly introduced ‘Special U Frozen Blueberries’ via a TV broadcast on March 31st at 3:35 PM. This product is a single Duke variety, cultivated in Washington State, USA, known as a major blueberry producing region, and uses only 100% US-grown, grade A raw blueberries, meticulously selected.

The harvested blueberries are rapidly frozen using the Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) method to maximize freshness and storage stability. Furthermore, it is designed to be advantageous for preserving anthocyanins, a representative nutritional component of blueberries. The product set consists of 13 packs of 320g frozen blueberries and 1kg of Peruvian apple mango, and will be sold for 59,900 won, a 10,000 won discount during the broadcast.

GS Shop Plans Continued Expansion of Frozen Fruit Product Line

Bae Kwon-il, Manager of GS Shop’s Food Team, explained, “Even amidst high inflation, the demand for fruit consumption for health management is steadily increasing.” He added, “We will continue to expand related products, focusing on frozen fruits and squeezed juices that offer both storage convenience and price competitiveness as alternatives to fresh fruits.”

GS Shop is actively responding to changing consumer fruit consumption patterns in an era of high inflation. The company plans to continuously strengthen its frozen fruit and squeezed juice product lines, which offer both storage convenience and cost-effectiveness. This strategy is expected to provide important options for consumers seeking health management and practical consumption.

English-Korean version

GS Shop Expands Frozen Fruit Selection, Boosting Convenience and Value Amid High Prices GS Shop announced that it is expanding…

[6
255,130,46,256
post-265","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-food-life","tag-frozen-fruit","tag-gs-shop","tag-high-prices","tag-squeezed-juice
["GET
