This summer, visitors to Hansik Culture Space I:um can look forward to a refreshing and unique culinary experience. The Hansik Promotion Institute (Chairman Lee Kyu-min) announced that its August 'Hansik Playground' program will feature an 'Omija Summer Drink Experience.' Through this program, participants are expected to explore the charms of omija, a traditional Korean ingredient, create their own unique summer beverages, and experience the wisdom and beauty of Korean cuisine with all five senses.
The Diverse Charms of Omija and the Summer Drink Experience
Omija, also known as 'five-flavor fruit,' derives its name from its unique combination of sweet, sour, bitter, salty, and pungent tastes. Historically, it has been cherished as a traditional beverage for quenching thirst and restoring vitality during hot summers. In this experience, participants will use omija as the main ingredient, freely adding seasonal fruits to the vibrant red omija base to create their own one-of-a-kind refreshing drinks.
Through this process, participants will engage all their senses, experiencing omija's distinctive yet harmonious flavors and beautiful color. They will naturally discover the deep essence of Korean cuisine and the value of seasonal ingredients. The Hansik Promotion Institute emphasized that this program is more than just making a drink; it's a special opportunity to learn about the wisdom and diverse appeal of Korean cuisine embedded in traditional ingredients, all in an easy and enjoyable way.
On-site Participation Details and the Spread of Traditional Food Culture
The 'Omija Summer Drink Experience' program is free for all visitors, with no participation fee required. The event will run for three days, from Thursday, August 6th to Saturday, August 8th, daily from 2 PM to 4 PM at Hansik Culture Space I:um.
