From a historical exhibition looking back at the footsteps of disabled arts, to a special exhibition imbued with the meaning of relationships and collaboration, and even performance that directly engage with the audience, this initiative promises a rich experience encompassing the past, present, and future of disabled arts.

The Korea Foundation for Disabled culture Arts (Chairperson Bang Gwi-hee) is presenting a variety of culture and arts event, encompassing exhibitions and performance, at Daehak-ro Ieum Center, Modoo Art Space, and Modoo Arts Theater to commemorate Disabled Persons' Day (April 20). This initiative, unfolding across three venues, is designed to showcase diverse facets of disabled arts art. From a historical exhibition that looks back at records, to a special exhibition exploring the meaning of relationships and collaboration, and even performance that directly engage the audience, disabled arts art can be experienced in various ways.
◇ 'disabled arts Artists History Exhibition – People Who Became Paths' (April 20 – May 10 / Ieum Center) At Daehak-ro Ieum Center, the April 20 to May 10 special exhibition special exhibition 'disabled arts Artists History Exhibition – People Who Became Paths' will be held. This exhibition is Korea's first archival exhibition, exploring the lives and art of first-generation disabled arts artists from the Joseon Dynasty through modern and contemporary times. Focusing on 38 individuals, it examines the historical flow of disabled arts and, based on records and historical materials, shows how disabled arts has continued through the ages. Furthermore, it is significant in that it lays the foundation for building a disabled arts archive.
◇ special exhibition 'The Art of Relationship: Willingly Leaning on Each Other' (April 16 – May 23 / Modoo Art Space) At Modoo Art Space, the April 1 special exhibition from special exhibition 'The Art of Relationship: Willingly Leaning on Each Other' will open. ◇ 'Concert for All: Together, Spring' (April 20 / Modoo Arts Theater) On Disabled Persons' Day, April 20, at 7:30 PM, the Modoo Arts Theater performance will host the commemorative performance 'Concert for All: Together, Spring'. This traditional Korean music performance is a crossover, based on traditional Korean music disabled arts, and features diverse performers, primarily disabled arts artists, presenting a stage where tradition and modernity blend. A variety of performers, including Gayageum player Seon Young-sook, piano-byeongchang Choi Jun, Pansori singer Heo Jeong, Samulnori Ttamtti, Dream On Dance Company, Gyeonggi folk song singer traditional Korean musicwon, and fusion traditional Korean music band Akdan Gwangchil, will participate, and the traditional Korean music event will be hosted by traditional Korean musician Oh Jeong-hae.
Although the three performance are composed of exhibitions and performances, they are connected as a single initiative in that they commemorate Disabled Persons' Day disabled arts, looking at the history and present of disabled arts together. From past records to today's creations and stages, this disabled arts initiative is significant in that it allows for a comprehensive view of the flow of disabled arts in one place. culture
