Seoul Namsan Gugakdang will present the "2026 Young Gugak Danjang Showcase," a creative support program for 청년 예술가, on May 23 at 3 PM at Crown Haitai Hall. This year's showcase features five teams of young artists, selected through a rigorous application and 심사 과정. Each team will present its unique exploration of 새로운 가능성 within traditional forms. Five Teams Offer Diverse Interpretations of Tradition
The showcase opens with Piri Band Zircle's "New Brass Breath." This 공연 combines the powerful breath and energy of 전통 관악기 like piri, jeopiri, and daepiri with modern band sounds such as rock, reggae, and funk, creating Zircle's unique Korean-style brass band music. Following this, creative artist Onuel presents "We All Live That Way," a piece rooted in 민요 (folk songs) and pansori (traditional narrative singing). The third 공연 is Park Yoon-ji's "Maek (Pulse) – for Piano & Large Drum."
