International Art Exchange Exhibition Fosters Bilateral Artistic Ties
The '2026 Korea-Philippines 국제미술교류전' will take place from 6월 수 to 6월 월 at two 각 장소 in Seoul: Gallery ALL in Insadong and Gallery ALLEY near Sinsa Station. Hosted by the Korea Professional Artists Association and sponsored by institutions including the 대한민국 대사관 in the Philippines and the Philippine-based Cebu GriGo Art Corp., the 전시 is anticipated to be a highly 공신력 있는 국제 행사.
Under the 부제 'Across Seas, Across Hearts,' the 교류전 will feature a significant 수 of leading contemporary 작가 from the Philippines alongside 거장 and 중견 작가 representing the 한국 미술계. This gathering is expected to reinforce 문화적 유대 between 한국 and the Philippines, fostering profound 소통 through the shared language of 예술.
Driving Forces and Featured Artists
The realization of this 대규모 국제미술교류전 owes much to the dedicated efforts of the 관장 who bridged the 미술계 of both 양국. Director Choi Bin-a, who served as the 총괄 주관, showcased her 역량 as a prominent 현대 민화 작가 in 한국. Together with Director Julie (Hee Jung Julie Kim), she spearheaded the 전 과정, from 작가 섭외 to 전시 기획, ensuring a high-caliber 완성도.
Among the 참여 작가, Oh Ji-hyun is drawing particular 인기. Having transitioned from a popular KakaoTalk emoticon 작가 to a 현대 민화 작가, Oh reinterprets 전통 민화 with a 현대적 sensibility. In addition to her, numerous other leading 중견 and veteran 작가 from 한국 and the Philippines are slated to unveil their distinctive 예술 세계 at this 교류전.
A Rich Showcase of Artistry and Emotion
To offer visitors an even richer experience, the 전시 is divided into two parts, staged across different 장소 and 기간별. Part 1 opens on 6월 수 on the second floor of Gallery ALL in Insadong, while Part 2 commences on 6월 금 at Gallery ALLEY near Sinsa Station. The 오픈식 for both parts are scheduled for 오후 4시 on their respective 개막일.
